TapeLogic (“TapeLogic,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides audio transcription and related services through our mobile apps and website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Account information: first name, last name, email address, date of birth, and optional phone number.
  • Authentication data: sign-in and verification data handled through Firebase Authentication (email/password, Google sign-in, and phone auth where enabled).
  • User content: transcripts, notes, transcript titles, folder names, and AI summaries.
  • Billing and entitlement data: subscription/top-up status, purchase/restore events, and plan access metadata.
  • Technical and usage data: device/app diagnostics and service activity needed to operate, secure, and improve TapeLogic.

2. Audio Processing and Retention

TapeLogic records audio locally on your device for transcription.

  • Raw audio is used to process transcription.
  • After a successful transcription, local raw audio is deleted by default.
  • If a session is interrupted (for example, app interruption/crash), raw audio may be temporarily retained only to support recovery.
  • If recovery is completed or discarded, retained raw audio is deleted.
  • TapeLogic does not currently provide an in-app raw audio library for user browsing/export.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • create and manage accounts
  • verify email addresses and support sign-in
  • transcribe recordings and generate AI summaries
  • sync transcript data across devices on the same account
  • organize transcripts (folders/search/edit/export)
  • enforce usage limits and billing entitlements
  • provide customer support and troubleshoot issues
  • detect misuse, abuse, or fraud

4. Third-Party Services

TapeLogic uses third-party providers, including:

  • Firebase (authentication, storage, cloud functions)
  • OpenAI (transcription and AI processing)
  • RevenueCat and Apple/Google billing systems (subscriptions, purchases, restore)

These providers process data as needed to provide their services to TapeLogic.

5. Billing and Subscriptions

Subscription purchase, renewal, cancellation, and payment management are handled by the platform store provider (Apple App Store / Google Play). TapeLogic receives billing and entitlement signals needed to activate paid features.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to:

  • provide the service
  • comply with legal obligations
  • resolve disputes
  • prevent fraud and abuse
  • support account and billing operations

Transcript/account data may remain until deleted by the user or removed after a valid request.

7. Your Choices

You can:

  • update certain profile information
  • edit and delete transcripts
  • manage subscriptions through your app store account
  • contact us regarding account or privacy requests

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children’s Privacy

TapeLogic is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Data Transfers

If you access TapeLogic from outside the country where our infrastructure operates, your information may be processed in other jurisdictions.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will revise the “Last updated” date when changes are made.
